Terms and Conditions

Introduction
These terms set out what you can expect from me, and what I need from you. I've written them in plain English on purpose.
By booking a trial lesson or a course, you agree to these terms.
Who you're contracting with
The Actor's Blueprint Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 15520379, registered office 167-169 Great Portland Street, London, W1W 5PF, United Kingdom.
Contact: sophiewinby97@gmail.com
Throughout these terms, "I" and "me" means The Actor's Blueprint Ltd. "You" means the parent or guardian booking lessons.
What I provide
- A free introductory call. Around twenty minutes, by phone or video, at no cost and with no obligation.
- A trial lesson. One hour of one-to-one tuition, delivered online, followed by a short written summary of what I noticed about your child.
- A 12-week course. Twelve weekly one-to-one lessons of one hour each, delivered online, planned around your child, with a short written note after each session.
- Where agreed separately, written evidence or reports to support an EHCP application, annual review or exam access arrangement.
All lessons are taught by me personally. Lessons are not subcontracted to anyone else.
Prices and payment
| Service | Price |
|---|---|
| Introductory call | Free |
| Trial lesson | £79 |
| 12-week course | £1,000 |
I am not VAT registered.
The trial lesson is payable in advance. The course is payable either in full before the first lesson, or in two instalments of £500 — the first before the first lesson, the second before lesson seven.
Payments are taken through Stripe. I do not see or store your card details.
If an instalment is missed, I'll contact you before doing anything else. Lessons may be paused if payment remains outstanding after 14 days.
Your right to cancel
Because you're buying at a distance, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of booking, without giving a reason. This is your right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
To cancel, just email me at sophiewinby97@gmail.com. You don't need a particular form of words.
If lessons haven't started, you'll receive a full refund within 14 days.
If you asked me to start lessons within the 14-day period, and some have already taken place, I'll refund what you've paid minus a proportionate amount for the lessons delivered. By booking a lesson that falls inside the first 14 days, you are expressly requesting that I begin during the cancellation period, and you acknowledge that you'll pay for what has been delivered if you then cancel.
After the 14 days, the cancellation terms below apply.
Cancelling or moving lessons
Moving a lesson. Please give me at least 24 hours' notice and we'll find another time. There's no charge for this.
Late cancellations. A lesson cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or not attended, is treated as delivered. I do make exceptions — illness, a crisis, a genuinely bad day. Just tell me.
I know that with SEN learners some weeks are harder than others. I would always rather move a lesson than have it become another thing your child dreads, so please do ask.
Ending a course early. After the 14-day cancellation period, if you need to stop, email me. You'll be charged for lessons delivered plus one further lesson, and anything else is refunded.
If I cancel. If I have to cancel a lesson, I'll offer an alternative time or refund that lesson. If I can't continue teaching your child for any reason, I'll refund all lessons paid for but not delivered.
What I need from you
- Somewhere reasonably quiet for your child to work, with a device and an internet connection
- Any information about your child's needs that would help me teach them well
- To be contactable during the lesson if your child is under 16
- Reasonable notice if something changes
What I promise, and what I don't
I'll teach with reasonable care and skill, as a qualified teacher, and I'll be honest with you about progress.
I don't guarantee grades or exam results. No honest tutor can. Progress depends on many things outside my control, including your child's engagement, their school, and their circumstances.
Where I write evidence for an EHCP, an annual review or an exam access arrangement, I'll write it accurately and on time. I can't guarantee the outcome of any application or appeal, which is a decision for your local authority, your child's school or the awarding body.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Safeguarding
I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate and Safeguarding Level 2 training, updated annually.
If I have a genuine concern that a child is at risk of harm, I have a duty to report it to the appropriate authority, and I may do so without telling you first if telling you would increase the risk to the child. Full details are in my Safeguarding Statement.
Teaching materials
Any resources, worksheets or written reports I produce remain my intellectual property. You're welcome to use them for your own child's education, and to share reports with your child's school or local authority. Please don't share, publish or sell them more widely.
Recording
Lessons are not recorded unless you and I have specifically agreed to it in advance and in writing.
Please don't record lessons without asking me first.
Liability
I'll take reasonable care in providing lessons. I'm not liable for losses that weren't foreseeable, or for matters outside my reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms limits my liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
I hold professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
Complaints
If something isn't right, please tell me. Email me at sophiewinby97@gmail.com and I'll respond within 5 working days. I'd much rather hear about a problem early than lose your trust over it.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to you is the one in place when you booked.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes fall to the courts of England and Wales.
